Campground Rules & Regulations

We hope your stay at Summit Lake Campground & RV Park will be enjoyable. To ensure everyone has a relaxing and safe time, our staff enforces the following rules and regulations.

Hours

Registration 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

(If registering after hours, a drop box is located at the campground kiosk or  register the following morning at the office)

Quiet Hours 11:00 pm – 8:00 am

Check in 2:00 pm

Check out 12:00 pm

Registered Campers

You must be 21 years of age to reserve a campsite.  Only one camping unit per site. Rates are for 2 adults and their dependent children or 4 adults.

Payment

Payment in full is due at time of booking.

Guests

Guests must register in the office. Day guest must leave by 9:00 pm. Overnight fee $8.00 per adult and $5.00 per child.

Information and Reservations

There is a 3 night minimum on holiday weekends. We will make every effort to reserve the site number you request, but we cannot guarantee them. Reservations made for the following season begin January 1st of current season. Early or late check out is an additional $5.00.

Group Reservations

If you have reserved several campsites for a group.  Each group member needs to contact us with their name, information and credit card within 5 business days to reserve their site number.

Cancellations and Refunds

Payment in full is due at time of booking.

Cancellation 8 days or more to arrival date are subject to a  refund less a $15 processing fee.

Cancellation 7 days – 72 hours prior to stay will be charged 1/2 of the reservation plus a $15 processing fee.

Cancellation 72 hours or less-  No refund on full reservation.

-No refunds for early departure.

Camping is an outdoor experience, therefore we do not give refunds due to the discomforts of weather or nature.

Traffic & Vehicles

10 MPH Speed limit. Only one vehicle per campsite. Other vehicle and visitors are to park in designated parking area. Bicycle and foot traffic must utilize roads. Do not travel through other people’s camping sites.

ATV 

Drive ATV’s to lodge and trails only. Helmets and eye protection use is required by those 18 years or younger.  Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent at all times while driving an ATV on the campground.  Use extreme caution when riding in campground and exiting the campground. Stop, look and listen. ATV’s may not be used on the campground for any other purpose than to connect to trail or lodge.  ATV riders are expected to operate their machines as quietly as possible to maintain a relaxing campground environment. We DO NOT tolerate speeding or unnecessary riding around in our campground. Please review all state laws and rules before riding.  We are located on route 31 and have maps available in the office.

Non-Motorized Lake 

Summit Lake (60 acres) is a non-motorized lake. Trolling motors and Electric motors are welcomed.

Campfires

Please be careful with campfires, do not leave them unattended. Do not burn or leave garbage in fire ring. Do not move fire rings.  Campfire height limit is 24 inches from the bottom of pit. We do not provide cooking grates.

Fireworks

No fireworks or any other hazardous material permitted.

Trees

Cutting, carving, or nailing on dead, alive, or fallen trees is prohibited.

Firewood

We comply with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources regulations on firewood travel.  No firewood from outside a 50 mile radius is allowed.  State and federal fines up to $1000.00 apply for violations of firewood quarantines.  Firewood is for sale in main office and at campground.

Electricity

Electric heaters, outside refrigerators, add-on air conditioners and appliances are not allowed. For seasonal and monthly guests, if you are running your air conditioners all day there will be an additional $50 monthly fee.

Pets

Please notify the office if you have any pets.  We require all guest with pets to fill out a pet registration form.  Well-mannered pets are welcome and must be leashed.  Pets must be supervised at all times and cleaned up after.  Aggressive behavior, barking or generally disruptive pets will not be tolerated.

Clotheslines:

For the safety of all campers, permanent clotheslines are not permitted on Sites.  Temporary clotheslines my be used and should be taken down immediately after use, as they may pose a safety hazard, especially after dark.

Restrooms

Restrooms are open 24 hrs. Young children must be accompanied by an adult. No dishwashing or fish cleaning is allowed in the bathroom sinks. Our showers are coin operated.

Sewer Connections

Make sure you have proper connections to the sewer pipe.  Please use proper chemicals in your holding tank.  Do not dispose of anything other than the toilet tissue in the toilet.

Trash

Place trash in designated garbage dumpsters. The dumpsters are for household trash only.  Any dumping of grills, appliances, tires, furniture, etc. is prohibited.

Swimming

Swim at your own risk.  There is NO lifeguard on duty.  Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Lost & Found

Located in the office.

Alcohol Policy:

In keeping with the family environment, excessive use of alcoholic beverages is not tolerated. Violators will be requested to leave the campground and risk the termination of their seasonal Agreement.  No public intoxication allowed.

Improper Behavior:

For the protection and benefit of all campers and guests, anyone who willfully or negligently destroys or defaces the property of another camper or campground property will be held liable for the full value of replacement cost and my be subject to eviction.  Any individual who violates these guidelines, or by their actions or words disturbs the peace, creates conflict, or otherwise creates a situation not in keeping with the family environment, will be engaging in improper behavior and will be instructed to leave the campground and risk the termination of their reservation and future reservations.

Family members and guests under the age of 21 unsupervised by an adult or the primary seasonal agreement holder must abide by all policies and Wisconsin laws. Any polices not followed will result in termination of their reservation and future reservation with no refund.

Summit Lake assumes no responsibility for lost, damaged or stolen property occurring to anyone while on its grounds or in its facilities. The use is entirely at the user’s risk.  The user assumes full responsibility for injury or illness occurring to them. We do reserve the right to evict or refuse service.
